PHYGELIUS

The Phygelius are starting to bloom and the hummingbirds are going crazy over it. I'm a little dogged tonight, so I'll post about it and the different hybrids
I have of it in the future.

All the best, Bob

Is that cape fuchsia, Bob? Healthy-looking plant. I'm a bit dogged too, I trimmed hedges all weekend. Cleaning up the branches is harder than the trimming!

I have not seen this plant before. Does it have a common name and will it grow in zone 5? I can't remember if you have said what zone you are in. I can see why the hummingbirds love it. Thanks again for sharing.

That's an annual I need to try! Does it re-seed for you?

Lostroses, Yes this is Cape Fushia, I have three different hybrids. As mentioned in the post I'll share about these in a few weeks. Yes I certainly agree, the clean up is harder. For me, I love to plant, hate to weed:)

Hi Cliff, Sorry to say this plant won't make it in your area. I'm in zone 8A by USDA, and zone 4 by sunset. Many gardens use the sunset zones out West because they take into account the many microclimate here and factor in heat index besides hardiness.

Always glad to see your questions and comments.

All the best, Bob

Lisa, Sorry It's a perennial in my area. However, It may be grow as finished annual colour in your area. It's only hardy to 10 degress. It does not reseed but does spread. So it's very easy to get division.

Happy gardening, BOB
