SPROUTS

It's been a month since my last post. It's funny how life works out when you think you might have a little extra time on your hands and suddenly you end up with less. The last month has been very busy, but also good. I am very excited about this year. Lots of new opportunities and events, and many new things I'm learning at my new job.

That being said I thought I'd share something else that delights me, signs of Spring. Right now it's snowing and in my area we are expected to have snow or rain for the next few days. I feel very fortunate that soon the snows will stop and Spring will begin to make her appearance. Usually in my area Winter finishes up the end of February to the beginning of March.
The above shots were taken a few weeks ago. I'm always glad to see the new growth on the perennials, the bulbs push through the ground and the buds start to swell on many of the deciduous shrub.

For those interested, the top and bottom pictures are of Sedums, the middle photo is of Alliums sprouting.

Yea! It's nice to have you back! The sight of new growth is so exciting. And, thank you for this wonderful way us down here in Zone 5 (I still consider myself somewhat Zone 4) to experience Spring vicariously! ;-)

Oh how exciting! Sprouts. None here yet, the yo-yo weather is even hindering my daffys right now.

Bob: Glad you are back! I did pull back some leave a bit ago and found the sprouts of the snowdrops. Another month will make a difference

Shady, thank you for the kind words. I'm glad to be back. Hope Spring comes early for you.

dirty fingers, fortunately daffs are really tuff. The foliage is especially hardy. As with Shady, I hope it warms up for you soon.

Yolanda, Thanks for stopping by, Your garden always so beautiful. I alway appreciate your comments.

Layanee, I'd love to see some photos of the snowdrops when in bloom.

How nice to see new growth! Sedums are a new interest of mine. My daughter lives in your area and I sometimes envy the earlier springtime you have there. Everything here is buried in snow this year!

Wow...have your signs of spring persisted? Up here it's snow and more snow with no end in sight. I like the snow personally, and for some reason in no hurry for spring right now. (Must be my head cold! ;-) Anyhow, I hope your spring keeps springin'!
